Why donate to Habitat?

Affordable housing makes a difference:

  • Housing can powerfully affect a child’s ability to thrive. Studies show that kids who live in safe, affordable homes are healthier, happier and do better in school.
  • Lower housing costs mean people can invest more in education. In 2015, researchers found that almost two-thirds of Habitat homeowners with children felt more confident about their ability to fund college for their kids.
  • A safe place to live can have a significant impact on a family’s health. According to the World Health Organization, families without decent housing face greater personal and environmental risks, are less nourished and have less access to health care.
  • Habitat’s work has long-term effects on family’s economic opportunities. Habitat homeowners report they are better able to pay bills on time, build savings and invest in education and small businesses.

Partner - Corporate Sponsorship

Corporate Sponsors are the keys to our success. They represent the generous businesses, churches, organizations, foundations, and individuals who provide funding and often all the volunteers needed to build Habitat homes.

There are many benefits to being a partner, including the following:

  • Investment in Anderson and Roane Counties’ communities and their development
  • Extraordinary team-building opportunity with unique volunteer activities
  • Various publicity opportunities as community leaders and supporters

Positive association with one of the most recognized nonprofits in America

Most importantly, as a Corporate Sponsor you are helping a family build strength, stability, and self-reliance. The experience changes the lives of a homeowner family forever, but it is also an unforgettable memory for the giving and working hands that helped the family build.

Land Donation

You can provide a site for a family to begin their new life in their forever home.

One of Habitat’s greatest challenges is finding land on which to build. We are continually working to identify property as a future home site.

Desirable lots and/or large parcels of land must:

Be located in either Anderson or Roane County
Be zoned residential
Be buildable
Have access to public water

With your help, you may be helping us meet the first critical step in making sure a deserving family in our community can build a permanent home.

If you would like to donate a parcel of land, have land to sell or can provide a lead on land acquisition, please contact Charlotte Bowers Cunningham.
